You will learn how to start a painting using the imprimatura method before moving on to glazing techniques to build up rich luminous colours layer by layer. This course is perfect for anybody who already has experience with drawing and would like to dabble in oil painting.(Materials are expected to be purchased by the student, please see the suggested materials list below. Students will be expected to work independently at home after each class.)Suggester Materials list:9" x 12" canvas, glass jar with a screw on lid (for mineral spirits), 2 rags, castile liquid soap or murphy oil soap floor wash (for cleaning brushes). Paints: Titanium White, Cadmium Yellow, Cadmium Red, Burnt Umber, Ultramarine Blue (Recomended brands: Gamblin, Winsor & Newton)Mediums: Alkyd Medium or Liquin and Odorless Mineral Spirits Brushes: Pointed Round Brush (Sizes: 8 & 2), Filbert (Sizes: 10 & 4), Short Flat (size: 6), Long Flat (Sizes: 2 & 8).
