Not only does this save you money, it also helps cut your carbon footprint by reducing the use of energy; fuel; water; fertiliser; land and people power, all needed to deliver food to us. It reduces food going to landfill where it decomposes and releases dangerous methane gas into the atmosphere.Top 5 most wasted foods in UK are potatoes, bread, milk, bananas and saladA third of all food produced globally is thrown awayOnly 7% of food surplus from retail and manufacturing sectors is redistributedDont worry, it's safe! The food we distribute is near or past their 'best before' date; (safe to eat but not at it's best), or near its 'use by' date; (the date by which it is safe to be eaten), or it has been overstocked, mislabelled or has damaged packaging.
