# Event Details - **Event Name**: Fireman’s Day Parade - **Event Start and End Date**: Thu, 25 Sep, 2025 at 07:30 pm - **Event Description**: The Kingwood VFD will be hosting its annual Fireman’s Day Parade during the Preston County Buckwheat Festival. RULES AND REGULATIONS The following rules and regulations must be met or your unit(s) could be disqualified as a potential prize Winner and/or asked to withdraw from the parade. The President of the Kingwood Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. and his staff have the authority. 1. Use of alcoholic beverages by parade participants is discouraged. Inappropriate behavior by an intoxicated individual(s) may result in legal action by the local authorities. 2. All units should maintain approximately 50 feet of spacing throughout the parade. Do not create gaps in parade flow. Parade should move at a steady pace. 3. No inappropriate language or comments allowed or will be tolerated over the public address system. 4. NO blowing sirens, talking, playing music, or other disturbances over the PA systems at any time during the parade. Any unit blowing sirens will be disqualified. 5. For safety reasons, NO distribution of objects/materials such as pennies, candy, gum, pamphlets, etc. by any method from parade route. NOTE: Following the parade, units staying will be directed to the truck parking area. Units desiring to Depart will be given directions for departing the area. PARTICIPATION INFORMATION • Please give this information to the individual(s) planning to attend • Judging and line-up is from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Apparatus arriving after 7:00 will not be judged. Parade route will close at 7:15 PM. Parade starts PROMPTLY at 7:30 PM. • Judging will be at St. Sebastian’s Catholic Church parking lot near the intersection of Rt. 7 and Rt. 26. • Have one way mileage recorded and ready to give to the judge at the time of judging. • Judging: cleanliness, organization and appropriateness of equipment on the vehicle and in compartments will be judged. You will not be penalized for road dirt. • After judging, units will be directed to line-up entrance and given specific instructions. • Units choosing not to be judged will be ineligible for awards, and will be directed immediately to parade entrance for instructions. • For security/emergency reasons, one person shall remain with the apparatus at all times. • Whenever possible, an apparatus from near or within an attending band’s home or school district will be lined up behind that band.
