Upcycled Holiday Decor

Join the UCRRA Recycling Outreach Team in celebrating the holidays with an upcycled ornament workshop for kids! Upcycling is a fun and creative way to reimagine unwanted items and turn them into new, useful items or works of art! The holidays are a wonderful time to spend with family and friends, decorate, and exchange gifts. Upcycling is one of many ways to reduce waste during the holiday season, when Americans generate 25% more waste than at any other time of year… Participants will hear a brief presentation about the impacts of our household waste and the importance of reducing, reusing and recycling. Then, educators will guide participants through a hands-on craft workshop to make an ornament using upcycled materials. All craft materials will be provided. This workshop is suitable for children ages 7 and up, and parental supervision is advised.
