Located at 2. South Prospect Street and adjacent to Barmann Park, the building is the former site of the Metropolitan Hall of Records. This public tour will offer a sneak-preview of the forthcoming Fabrication Center, a 20,000 square foot area of the building that was created for hands-on making, skill-sharing, and creative community projects that is rooted in sustainable practices. Pre-registration is required in order to ensure the safety and comfort of participants. The September tour series includes the following dates:Thursday, September 17th 4-5:30 pm or 6-7:30 pmFriday, September 18th 4-5:30 pm or 6-7:30 pmSaturday, September 19th from 2-3:30 pm or 4-5:30 pm.Opening in phases, The Metro will be a community learning hub, with a wide variety of ways to engage in the space. The Metro will support learning through workshops, events, and evolving programs that reflect local needs and uplift the gifts of Kingston.
