Through gentle creative activities of each person's choice (dance invitations, writing or art exercises etc.) we will intentionally explore our personal and collective grief and honour where we are at. This is an evening where we can be however we are. We can connect with others however they are. 

There is lots to celebrate during pride month, but many of us are also grieving. Whether that is the collective grief of harms that are done to members of community each day, or a personal grief of loss or disconnection. It might make it hard to celebrate, or feel the joy. Sometimes queer joy doesn't come unless we also acknowledge the grief that's there and take the time to feel it.

All queer, trans, two-spirit, non-binary, pansexual, lesbian, gay or other queerly identified folks welcome.

Thursday, June 25th, 7pm at The Artery Community Gathering Space, 844A Princess St.  This event is FREE but please register in advance. https://events.humanitix.com/queer-grief-tending. Donations welcome to help cover the cost of the venue and planning.

Facilitated by Sarah Wiseman -- Queer poet, creative maker, ecstatic dance leader, grief-tender, community organizer and space holder. 

Please note I am not a therapist, and this is not a therapy group. I am someone who experiences grief and is interested in facilitating creative spaces in community where that grief is welcome. 

This event happens at The Artery. A Trellis/ReelOut run gallery and community gathering place. 844A Princess St. It is partially accessible (it does not have automatic doors). The washrooms are gender neutral. It is on a bus route.
