This will be a brief open-play event for children ages 2-5 and their parent/caregiver. The kids can play and the grown-ups can have an opportunity to discuss play and nature-based learning for early childhood development.

What to expect:

-Open play time (we will put out various open-ended play invitations and children are welcome to explore our fully fenced in playground)

-Picnic lunch (bring a lunch and blanket! We will read one or two books while we eat- children are not required to participate)

-Parent discussion (While the kids play, Ms. Sam and Ms. Krissy will lead a discussion on the month’s topic and then open it up for any questions)

This month’s topic: 
Seeing Play Through a Different Lens: How to step back, observe, and appreciate the learning happening during your child’s play. 

This is a low-pressure, flexible, free event for local families. Great for those who are:

-Curious about play-based, outdoor learning

-Looking to connect with other families with similar interests

-Well-versed in play-based and outdoor learning but simply want a time for their child to freely explore a new space and play with other children! (There aren’t many playgroups on the weekends!)

There is a child-size bathroom available during the event (as well as a changing area). We do have a dog, Odin, who will likely join us - he is friendly…and large!

The event will happen rain or shine (what kid doesn’t love puddles?!) If anyone needs to borrow a rainsuit for the event, we do have some.

Registration is not required (I, personally, love last-minute decisions). Come by whenever, leave when it’s right for your family.
