- **Event Description**: Join us at the PumpHouse Museum for Live Hive Experience with Oak & Willow, a special drop-in pollinator education experience with Oak & Willow Honey Company!

This immersive event features a live observation hive, giving visitors a safe, up-close look at real honeybee activity inside a fully enclosed hive. Watch bees at work, explore how a colony functions and learn why pollinators play such an important role in our ecosystems and food supply.

Visitors can also explore a hands-on hive table with beeswax, honeycomb, propolis and beekeeping tools, and chat with the beekeeper throughout the day.

Short presentations will run on the hour, with topics including:
? Bee-ology: The Biology of Bees
? The Mystery of Honey
? Inside the Hive
?‍? A Beekeeper’s Day

Between presentations, visitors are welcome to explore, ask questions and interact with the displays at their own pace. The final hour of the day will be open for live Q&A, hive viewing and hands-on exploration.

Location: PumpHouse Museum
Admission: Included with regular museum admission (Access to the BEES! exhibit included!)
Registration: Pre-registration is encouraged, but not required. Drop in anytime during the event.


The PumpHouse is grateful to TD Friends of the Environment Foundation for their support of the Education Hive. This hands-on learning space connected to the BEES! exhibition supports further learning through interactive exhibit elements, curriculum-linked school programming, and community programs. The Education Hive will help visitors of all ages explore pollinators, biodiversity, and environmental stewardship in meaningful and engaging ways.
