Please come prepared with something to eat your meal from.This year’s theme is Peace. This event will feature a silent auction, a youth art project, and live performances!YOUTH INTERFAITH ART PROJECTYouth of all ages and all faiths are invited to decorate 6" by 6" card stock for a collective art piece. Through drawing/painting, poetry/writing share your vision of what faith, peace, unity, and community look like for you. Make in advance and bring or create it at the event. This is not a competition and there will be no judgement of your art piece. This is a community-building art project for youth. At the event, we will create a collective banner with your art pieces to symbolize unity and community.If you are part of a youth group for young people of faith and would like to participate in this art project, please email Kamryn.marsh@chco.ca; we can come visit your group to discuss the project and the potluck event.SILENT AUCTION FUNDRAISERThe Kingston Interfaith Community is a completely volunteer run group. We are hosting a silent auction fundraiser at this year’s potluck. Some silent auction items include a hand-knit sweater, quilted tote bags, hand-made aprons, a baby quilt, and a home-cooked meal. People will be able to make purchases for the silent auction through cash, e-transfer, and debit or credit card (square payment).LIVE PERFORMANCESLive performances include a dance from a group of Ismaili youth, a youth performance from the Geetanjali Cultural Temple of Kingston, songs and interactive dance led by a local klezmer band, and a song performed by Baháʼí youth.--Kingston Interfaith Community Mission Statement: Sharing our faiths, spiritual traditions, and beliefs. Fostering mutual growth in respect and understanding ​for the good of all.Our meetings begin with the following acknowledgment:We gather as one Kingston Interfaith CommunityLike a growing Cedar tree,our leaves are healing, fed by the sun and moon that shine on all of us equally;our branches are plenty, they reach out to the One we know and call by many names;our trunk is strong, held together by our faiths and spiritual traditions;our roots are nourished by mutual growth in understanding, fed by the four directions;and this tree is planted on this ground that many Indigenous Peoples call home now and have always done so.​We give thanks to the Creator, to the sun and moon, to this land, and to each other –​in peace, respect, and friendship.
