- **Event Description**: Cellar Cat is beyond excited to welcome back spectacular Jovino Santos Neto, grammy nominee, headliner, multi-instrumentalist, and all around great performer.  

A master pianist, composer, arranger, flutist, and player of a multitude of other instruments including the melodica and the accordion, Jovino Santos Neto is one of the top Brazilian musicians working today. Currently based in Seattle, Washington, he has throughout his career been closely affiliated with the Brazilian master Hermeto Pascoal. He was an integral part of Pascoal's group from 1977-1992 when he fine-tuned his artistry and co-produced several legendary records. His relationship with Hermeto continues as his mentor figures prominently in his recent recordings. Jovino is a three-time Latin Grammy nominee (2004, 2006 and 2009).

He has had his compositions performed by many ensembles, big bands and orchestras worldwide.

Joining Jovino is special guest artist Kelsey Mines.

Kelsey Mines is a bassist, vocalist and composer that premiers new original music that seeks to intersect activism, community and art. Born and raised in Seattle, Kelsey grew up on the music made in the Pacific Northwest. She earned her Bachelor of Music in Double Bass Performance from the University of Washington, and a Master of Music in Double Bass Performance from Arizona State University. A recipient of the Holland Scholarship, Kelsey followed her passion for the double bass to the Netherlands, where she studied at Prince Claus Conservatoire before returning to Seattle where she has fully established herself as an important voice in the scene as both a performer and educator.

Rounding out the Trio is in high-demand standout drummer and percussionist Jeff Busch.

Jeff Busch is an exuberant drummer/percussionist, vocalist, and composer whose passion for soulful music of varied traditions has led him to perform with jazz, blues, and gospel groups--as well as calypso, samba, and Cuban jazz ensembles. Between 1988-96, Jeff studied fine art, and music in Leeds, England. He studied percussion and drum set with Dave Hassel, calypso with steel drum master Dudley Nesbitt, and later Brazilian percussion with Jesse Bannister. In Leeds he first worked as a percussion accompanist for dancers at the Northern Contemporary Dance School; The Phoenix Dance Company and The Northern Ballet. Now based in Seattle, Jeff continues this work for the Cornish College of the Arts, and for Janelle Keane's Afro-Brazilian dance classes at the University of Washington Experimental College.
