She has a way of setting you up for success and leaving room for your creativity. You will get a small class size with lots of individual attention to problem-solve what you are curious to learn in the moment. Join this wonderful course over 4 Monday afternoons at the beautiful Artist Studio Loft above the Antique Emporium.Mondays Noon - 2:30pmJanuary 5th, 12th, 19th & 26thAll Materials includedDay 1 - We will create a Chalk Pastel Sky Drawing exploring colour mixing and similarities of chalk pastels and oil paint as scaffolding for learning about oils.Day 2 - We will create an 8x8 inch oil painting of clouds exploring colour mixing and the wet-into-wet painting qualities of oils.Day 3 & 4 - We'll create a 12 x 16 painting on wood panel inspired by your own picture of sky and water.Are you going to miss a class? No worries, I will offer an extend class for January 19th or 26th. We'll start at 10am and have a full date to create.

                "description": "Shannon Dickie is an artist and Arts Educator with 15 years experience. Her experience with the Education Programs at the Art Gallery of Ontario shaped her arts education practice. Shannon then went on to run the Visual Arts program at an Elementary School in Downtown Toronto for almost a decade.As an artist, Shannon is an oil painter with a love of colour exploration. Shannon likes to share the experiences of memory and nostalgia with viewers. The soft blurred finish of her paintings allow the viewer to immerse themselves in the scene and recall their own memories. She continues to show her artwork at Art Interiors and Blue Crow Gallery in Toronto.Shannon has her Bachelors of Art from the University of Guelph with a major in Studio Art and a minor in Art History. After graduating, Shannon has maintained an active studio practice, including as a member of Flick the Switch Artist Collective.  Since moving to Kingston, she has taught at the Kingston School of Art, Lakeside Studio Gallery, The Tett and has been a member of the Hive Artist Collective.  You can find Shannon painting at her art studio in The Artist Studio Loft 2nd floor of the Antique Emporium."
