The Second Line, fronted by veteran pianist Tim Penn draws on the music of Fats Domino, Professor Longhair, Dr John, Allen Toussaint and then stirs it up with a pinch of Ray Charles, and Tom Waits. With Tim’s own original compositions, this show is a recipe that has led to a string of sold out shows in London over the last few years.

Step back in time to the Jazz bars of New Orleans with  one of the top New Orleans R&B bands in London.

Tim Penn is one of the most in demand keyboard players on the roots, songwriter & blues scenes. Going back to the 1970s, he was a member of Twickenham legend Dorris Henderson’s Eclection and also the Kevin Coyne band alongside Andy Summers (The Police) and Gordon Smith (Described by John Peel as ”The foremost white Blues guitarist in the world “ )

In Tim’s own words: “This is the blues, but with a great big smile on its face”.

If you like the Crescent City’s rich heritage of Rhythm and Blues mixed in with a nod back to the Jazz greats like Louis Armstrong and Jelly Roll Morton then this is one band you won’t want to miss.

9pm, Doors from 7pm

Iconic speakeasy Ram Jam Records is hidden away behind the award winning Smok’d pub at The Grey Horse Kingston (and yes we serve all their award winning food and drink) .

Dance the night away with the greats of the Blues and Jazz scene every Saturday night at neigbourhood Juke Joint Ram Jam Records.
