They change places, jobs, communities and the environment around them.TRANSECTS is a research project looking at three big marine energy shifts in the Humber through the stories of locals who have experienced them:Whale Oil (1800s - 1900s)Oil and Gas (1960s - today)Renewables (2000s - today)Understanding past and present experiences - through these stories - can help us understand how to build a fairer, more resilient future for our coastal community.Hull artist, Lauren Saunders, is working closely with researchers from the University of the Highlands and Islands, and the University of Hull, to creatively explore how our community understands, remembers and learns from these changing energies and livelihoods.
