Back for 2026 is our first competition of the year with the Hull’s Strongest Beginners and Inters Competition 2026. We are retaining last years format with Beginners and Inters 1 and 2, however we are also inviting the Ladies to step up and compete as well.

This comp is designed to help bridge the gaps between first timers and novice, and from novice to weighted categories.
Weigh in will be on the day, goes without saying if you've podiumed at a previous Novice comp you don't belong in beginners. Check the event weights and choose your category accordingly.
Winners of each category will also gain automatic entry into their respective category at Hull's Strongest Man 2026.
Entry fee is £35 and to be paid via paypal friends and family, entry is only confirmed on receipt of comp fee.

Event 1 – Apollons Axle Squat - Max reps in 60secs
50mm axle with 12" Apollons Wheels. Squat will be to fixed height blocks. Both wheels must touch down before standing up. Belts, wrist and knee sleeves but no wraps. No suits or briefs. Grip tops allowed.
Beginners Men – 130kg

Event 2 - Log Press max reps in 60s
Wrist wraps, elbow sleeves, belts, grips shirts allowed. No elbow wraps.

Event 3 – Car Deadlift. Max reps in 60s
Side Handle lift, belts and knee sleeves allowed. No wraps, suits, briefs or FIG 8 lifting straps.

Event 4 – Moving Medley, fastest time to complete all objects. Max time 75s. Drop and turn at 15m.
Yoke into Farmers into Husafell Bag. Grip tops allowed.
