- **Event Description**: Join us for  a special summer visit to Hull, for a fascinating tour of this remarkable city.About this EventWe are delighted to invite you to join Halifax Civic Trust for a special summer visit to Hull, where we will be welcomed by our friends at the Hull Civic Society for a fascinating guided walk around some of the city’s most remarkable historic and architectural sites.📅 Wednesday 8 JulyHull Civic Society will lead us on an enjoyable and informative tour highlighting many of the city’s landmarks and hidden gems. The walk begins at the railway station and will take in a variety of important civic spaces, historic streets and waterfront views.🚆 Suggested travel arrangementsParticipants will make their own way to Hull. Many members may wish to travel together using the following train:🚆 Depart Halifax: 09:16🚆 Arrive Hull: 11:00🚆 Depart Hull: 16:15🚆 Arrive Halifax: 18:05Current prices on Trainline are around £10.99 with a railcard, though this may vary.We will meet outside Hull Paragon Station at 11:05am to begin the tour, where Hull Civic Society will meet us and lead the walk.🗺️ Proposed walking routeOur hosts plan to guide us through a varied route including:• Hull Paragon Station• The Cenotaph• Paragon Street, past Paragon Arcade• Paragon Street Globe• Queen Victoria Square• Ferens Art Gallery (exterior)• Queens Gardens (west end)• Princes Dock Street• Posterngate• Mary Murdoch Bridge• Spurn Light Vessel and the Marina• Humber Street and the Pier (with views of The Deep)• Scale Lane Bridge• Market Place (King William III statue)• Historic High Street before returning to the stationThe final route is dependent on the weather, and one or two indoor attractions may be included if conditions require.🍴 LunchWe will stop around Trinity Market, where there is a wide range of food options and no need to pre-book. This vibrant indoor market offers something for everyone. Lunch and refreshments during the day are paid by individuals attending.☕ Afternoon refreshmentA short mid-afternoon coffee break can also be included as part of the walk.🚆 Return journey suggestionWe aim to return to the station by around 16:00, allowing members to take the suggested train.👥 Places are limited to first come first served. 💷 Cost: Tickets for the tour are free. Travel to and from Hull and refreshments NOT included.Please note that the route may be adjusted slightly depending on the weather.We hope you can join us for what promises to be a very interesting and sociable visit.
