- **Event Description**: Join us for new creative activities inspired by Daniel Shankens exhibition, The Cascades.About this EventA fun and free Saturday Art Club at Stanley Picker Gallery for children ages 7-11. Parents are encouraged to drop their children off and return at the end of the session, to see what has been going on and visit the exhibition together. Sessions are led by a team of Kingston School of Art students and alumni,  and complement the gallery’s programme, which this term is Daniel Shankens exhibition, The Cascades, a multi-channel installation focusing on networks of information that run in the background of our lives, filtered and curated by intelligent algorithms.Young artists will delve into the themes of the exhibition in fun and engaging ways – combining interactive games, making, drawing, and discussion – as they explore the practice and processes of contemporary artists, learn new techniques, and have the opportunity to contribute to a special participation showcase at the end of term!ClothingOccasionally, activities can be messy. We do our best with cover ups and water-based resources, but please ensure your child is dressed appropriately.SnacksEach session will include a 5-10 minute break and we will provide a small snack, such as a biscuit or fruit/vegetables. Please inform us is your child has allergies.Gallery location & AccessibilityStanley Picker Gallery is a full accessible venue, situated on a small island on the Hogsmill River, behind Kingston School of Art, an approx. 10-minute walk from Kingston Town Centre. We have free onsite parking.
