Dobbins! Students in grades 5-8 will grow their confidence in a variety of shading techniques and learn how to apply it in drawings. Students will also learn how to draw features including noses, eyes, and mouths and how to set it in proportion with a face, and will draw a simple still life to practice their shading.Lesson 1: Practice various shading techniques in small squares (cross-hatch, blending, stippling, etc.), then shade forms to create volume (triangle to cone, circle to sphere)Lesson 2: Drawing and shading facial featuresLesson 3: Still life day!Class Dates: February 5, 12, and 19, 4:30-6 pmLocation: Borden Park Community CenterAbout this series: Mobile Art Studio classes are a grant funded initiative organized by the Kingsport Cultural Arts office, City of Kingsport. She encourages her students to grow beyond what they expect of themselves!
