Film - It Was Just an Accident

Winner of the Palme D'Or at Cannes, and a likely Oscar 2026 contender, this furious but funny revenge drama/thriller is the latest from master film-maker Jafar Panahi, who has been imprisoned for his films several times in Iran. He remains as defiant as ever, and in this seemingly simple tale of a mechanical breakdown in the countryside, he still manages to take aim at the oppressive regime.
