Guest Speaker - The Rotary Junior Community Awards

The Rotary club of Kinglake Ranges is in the pilot stages of bringing this award to the youth of our community. We have guest speaker Fiona McCarthy, Youth Director of the Rotary Club of Seymour, joining us to share her experiences running the Rotary junior community awards.

THE AWARD
The Rotary junior community award is presented to children who complete a range of activities during their final year of primary school. The activities are designed to give children a wide range of experiences in their local community.

The aims of the award:
1. To raise the level of knowledge in children of the range of value in their community.
2. To give a greater understanding of what makes our communities work.
3. To provide an opportunity for children to experience the satisfaction of community service.
4. To give children an opportunity to see and understand their own potential value to the community regardless of academic, physical or other abilities.
