10 years, a fist-full of climbers sat on the bouldering mats at Spirit Rock and decided that a society to support the access, development and maintenance of outdoor climbing areas would be a worthwhile objective. So we did.

Over the past decade, we have raised thousands of dollars for hardware, route development and maintenance. The Perry Creek Climbing area has been designated a Rec Site and the same designation has been supported for Bootleg Mountain.

There is a valuable role that we are needing to fill at the East Kootenay Climbing Association as our secretary / treasurer is stepping away after 10 years. If you are interested in joining our board, passionate or interested in climbing, or new to the area and just want to know a bit more, please join us Sunday Nov 16 at Grist and Mash Brewery for our AGM and let's tip a pint to this amazing climbing community.
