La Terre Farms will have a fresh floral wreath on display! 15 artisans Returning: James Inabinet “I dye yarn and weave rugs and shawls in a forest studio next to the creek that borders my land. My weaving materials are natural, primarily cotton and wool, and are selected, drawn, dyed, and strung according to their durability and beauty. To me, weaving is a meditation. The rhythmic sounds of shuttle passing across yarn is punctuated by clanking frames and beating reed–shuttle across yarn and beat, passing shuttle ... and beat. Quite often time seems to stand still and that’s the energy that I try to put into everything I make. I approach weaving as an organic process, the project never fully planned out in advance, room always left for whatever wants to be made–the invisible becoming visible.” Margaret Inabinet Margaret, originally trained as a Graphic Designer, became an Art teacher, and now endeavors to create with clay, and watercolor. “Nature always inspires me which is probably why I love to create with terra cotta clay. But my faith is what seems to direct my hands sometimes, hence the Advent wreaths, Nativities, and Sacred Hearts.” She also, teaches hand-building clay classes in her outdoor studio. Danielle Inabinet Danielle was born in Louisiana and raised in the deep woods of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. She completed her master’s degree in ceramics from Tulane University in 2018. She works primarily as a functional potter and sometimes as a sculptor, using cone 6 porcelain clay and glazes. Jaden Hendrix As a biologist who is an artist at heart, it’s my passion to bring the wonder and beauty of the natural world to the spotlight through ceramics. Each piece is carefully hand sculpted from stoneware clay and brush glazed in a way which highlights and mimics mother nature’s creations to bring you a variety of realistic, functional and decorative pieces with a touch of whimsy! {Facebook pg is Skullptures by Jaden} Laurali Manieri On retiring to the MS Gulf Coast, (and down-sizing), I finally had the time to play with glass again. No longer having the space for large panels, I had to rethink my approach to creating with glass. I fell in love with creating dimensional pieces, and voila! Danglez and more was born. Schafer's bas relief of a Grand Oak appears on the Bay St Louis Bridge, and her Grand Oak Series features hand-painted papers and collages inspired by our beautiful oak trees. She will also have hand-painted collaged paintings honoring quilt patterns and inspired from scrapes of her paintings uncovered after Hurricane Katrina. Introducing: Cecelia Hopes With my design background, I have a passion for the creative process - texture, color, natural elements, design, and composition have brought me back to three mediums again and again. Fiber, Watercolor, and Clay. Fiber - Weaving has opened new worlds for creative expression. This medium is an escape into a textural world where my art is not on the canvas - it is the canvas. Watercolor - Allow space where imagination can flow freely, and anything is possible. Clay - Forming something artful out of the earth fulfills and fuels.
