Workshop 2: The Importance of Play – How to Play with Your Child to Help Their Development

Play is a really important way for your child to learn about the world and those around them, as well as having fun and building skills. You will be introduced to a method of play called DIR-Floortime which is an evidence based approach helpful for autistic children. You will learn how to understand your child’s current developmental level and know which methods of play are needed to help them develop further. You will learn more about how to play with your child using the DIR-Floortime approach and learn about the many areas of potential growth a toy can facilitate. This approach emphases how play can help develop your child socially, physically, cognitively and emotionally .
