Латвійський концертний піаніст Андрейс Осокінс, є випускником у Royal Academy of Music та Trinity College of Music у Лондоні.

Він є лауреатом низки престижних фортепіанних конкурсів – зокрема, Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition у Тель-Авіві, Long-Thibaud International Competition в Парижі, Leeds International Piano Competition в Лідсі та Queen Elisabeth International Piano Competition в Брюсселі.

У концертному календарі музиканта сольні виступи у багатьох престижних концертних залах – зокрема, у Berlin Philharmonic, Great Hall of Konzerthaus Berlin, Alte Oper у Франкфурті; La Verdi Concert Hall в Мілані, National Concert Hall у Дубліні, Royal Festival Hall, Wigmore Hall, St Martin-in-the-Fields та Kings Place Concert Hall у Лондоні, Gasteig Concert Hall у Мюнхені, La Monnaie Concert Hall у Брюсселі, Opera Comique у Парижі та Symphony Hall у Бірмінгемі.

Андрейс мав честь виступати з такими престижними оркестрами, як Orchestre National de Belgique під керівництвом Марін Алсоп, Hallé Orchestra з сером Марком Елдером, Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France з Дарреллом Ангом, London Philharmonic Orchestra з Джеймсом Джаддом, Sinfonietta Riga Orchestra під керівництвом Нормундса Шне. Піаніст записав два сольні студійні альбоми: Dedication – із творами Ліста та Шумана (DUX Recording Producers), а також Two Worlds – з фортепіанною музикою Дебюссі та Гершвіна (Prima Classic). Крім того він випустив концертний альбом Osokins Andrejs | Pianist – Live (International Piano Forum) та альбом Stardiving зі своїми власними фортепіанними композиціями. Він також записав альбом зі своїм братом Георгієм та батьком Сергієм Осокінсами – The Three Osokins in Latvian Piano Music (Skani). У співпраці з мецо-сопрано Ієвою Паршею він записав диск I Berzs, i Smilgas (Skani). Його альбом Two Worlds був номінований на престижну премію Opus Klassik у чотирьох номінаціях – зокрема, у номінації «Кращий інструменталіст року».

У 2015 році Андрейс започаткував проєкт фортепіанної династії Three Osokins, який став одним із найважливіших концертних подій на латвійській сцені класичної музики. Троє піаністів-віртуозів династії Осокінсів — брати Андрейс і Георгій, а також їхній батько, професор Сергій Осокінс — вперше виступили разом у переповненій концертній залі Dzintari в Юрмалі. Наступного року їх концерт у Latvian National Opera транслювався по всьому світу німецьким інтернет-телебаченням Klassik TV.

Пан Осокінс є палким прихильником сучасної фортепіанної музики. Він активно співпрацює з композиторами, ініціює створення нової музики для фортепіано. Окрім сольних фортепіанних композицій, Андрейс виконав прем’єри двох фортепіанних концертів, присвячених йому – це Симфонія-концерт Юріса Карлсона (Симфонія No. 2, 2019) та фортепіанний концерт Зігмара Лієпінса (2023).

Андрейс є засновником та художнім керівником фестивалю Osokins Freedom Festival for Ukraine. З роками він перетворився з міні-фестивалю на масштабну подію у Латвії. Фестиваль пропонує різноманітну програму концертів, майстер-класів, вистав, тематичних дискусій, зустрічей та багато інших форматів. Фестиваль ініціює нові колаборації, музичні проєкти та благодійні заходи. Він став місцем зустрічі та значущою культурною подією в Ризі для професіоналів та глядачів.

У 2008 році піаніст отримав The Great Music Award, що є найвищою формою державного визнання у сфері музики в Латвії. У 2023 році був нагороджений найвищою латвійською державною нагородою – The Order of the Three Stars за організацію благодійних заходів та концертів.

VERE MUSIC FUND – благодійний фонд, заснований у 2017 році Тетяною Веревською. Фонд надає українським музикантам гранти для участі у міжнародних конкурсах та майстер-класах, підтримує міжнародні музичні конкурси в Україні, а також реалізує фестивальні проєкти та освітні ініціативи.

Master class of Andrejs Osokins (piano), Latvia

The master class will be held from April 15, 4 pm in VERE MUSIC HUB (Kyiv, 21/8 Malopidvalna str.). Classes are held without an audience, but students, teachers, and professional musicians are welcome to come and listen to their colleagues.

The list of active participants of the master class will be made public, and the schedule of classes will be sent to all registered participants 1-2 days before the master class.

The master class is part of the VERE MUSIC ACADEMY program.

Selection of active participants based on videos. The video must be recorded after April 1, 2025. Applications can be sent by April 11, 2026, to academy@vere.fund.

Latvian classical concert pianist Andrejs Osokins is a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music and Trinity College of Music in London

He is laureate of several piano competitions, including the Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition in Tel Aviv, the Long-Thibaud International Competition in Paris, the Leeds International Piano Competition and the Queen Elisabeth International Piano Competition in Brussels.

Andrejs’ performance diary has included recitals in many high profile recital venues including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Great Hall of Konzerthaus Berlin, Frankfurt’s Alte Oper; Milan’s La Verdi concert hall, National Concert Hall in Dublin, Royal Festival Hall, Wigmore Hall, the St Martin-in-the-Fields and Kings Place concert hall in London, Gasteig concert hall in Munich, La Monnaie concert hall in Brussels, Opera Comique in Paris and the Symphony Hall in Birmingham.

Andrejs has had the honor of performing with prestigious orchestras including the Orchestre National de Belgique, conducted by Marin Alsop, the Hallé orchestra with Sir Mark Elder, Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France with Darrell Ang, the London Philharmonic orchestra with James Judd, the Sinfonietta Riga Orchestra conducted by Normunds Šnē, collaboration with Kremerata Baltica orchestra and Boian Videnoff in Frankfurt Alte Oper as a part of the Messe Frankfurt, performance with Qatar Philharmonic orchestra and Maestro Pablo Mielgo, performances with Latvian National Orchestra under the button of Andris Poga and Vassily Sinaisky.

He has worked with many celebrated pianists, including Paul Badura-Skoda, Christopher Elton, John Lill, Domenique Merlet, Arie Vardi, Bernd Goetzke, Boris Berman, Willem Brons, Rolf Hind, Stephen Kovacevic, Yoheved Kaplinsky, Volker Banfild, Jonti Solomon and Martino Tirimo.

His frequent stage partners include sopranos Marina Rebeka, Inese Galante, string ensemble “Kremerata Lettonica”, actors Gundars Aboliņš, Dita Lūriņa to name a few.

Mr. Osokins is the founder and artistic director of the annual “Osokins Freedom Festival” in Latvia, an Associate of the Royal Academy of Music (ARAM) in London and Fellow of Trinity college of music (FTCM) in London.

The pianist has released two solo studio albums – “Dedication” featuring music by Liszt and Schumann  (publisher “DUX Recording Producers”), “Two Worlds” that includes piano music by Debussy and Gershwin (publisher “Prima Classic”), one live album “Osokins Andrejs | Pianist — Live” (publisher “International Piano Forum”) and album “Stardiving”, featuring Andrejs Osokins original piano compositions. He has also released an album with his brother Georgijs and father Sergejs Osokins – “The Three Osokins in Latvian Piano Music” and “I Berzs, i Smilgas” together with mezzo-soprano Ieva Parša (both –publisher “Skani”). His album “Two Worlds” was nominated for the prestigious Opus Klassik Award in four nominations, including “The Best Instrumentalist of the Year”.

From 2015, Andrejs became a member and an organizer of the “Three Osokins” piano dynasty project, which had become one of the most significant concert events in Latvian classical music scene. In 2015, three piano virtuosi of Osokins dynasty: brothers Andrejs and Georgijs and their father professor Sergejs Osokins played together for the first time for the fully packed Dzintari concert hall in Jūrmala and the next year their concert in Latvian National Opera was broadcasted worldwide by the German internet television Klassik TV.

Mr. Osokins is a passionate advocate of contemporary piano music, working intensively with composers to initiate the creation of new music for the piano. Alongside with solo piano compositions, Andrejs has premiered two piano concerts that were dedicated to him: Juris Karlsons’ Symphony-Concerto (also known as Symphony No. 2, 2019) and Zigmars Liepins’ Piano Concerto (2023).

Mr. Osokins is the founder and artistic director of the Osokins Freedom Festival for Ukraine. Over the years, it has grown from a mini-festival to a large-scale and well-known event in Latvia, offering a diverse program of concerts, masterclasses, topical talks, musicians’ meetings and more. The festival initiates new collaborations, concert programs and charity events, becoming a meeting point and a significant cultural event in Riga for professionals and audiences.

In 2008 Mr. Osokins was awarded with “The Great Music Award”, which is the highest form of state recognition in the field of music in Latvia. In 2023 Andrejs Osokins was awarded highest Latvian state award – “The Order of the Three Stars” for the organization of charity activities and concerts.

VERE MUSIC ACADEMY is an ongoing program of master classes by VERE MUSIC FUND. It offers Ukrainian performers access to the best educational practices, for which they used to have to spend a lot of time, effort, and money. But now it is possible to attend master classes by world-renowned teachers and musicians without leaving Ukraine – absolutely free of charge.

VERE MUSIC FUND is a charitable fund established in 2017 by Tetiana Verevska. The Fund provides grants to Ukrainian musicians to participate in international competitions and master classes, and implements festival projects and educational initiatives. It also supports international music competitions in Ukraine.
