About the event

Narrogin's Renewable Energy Transition Information Session
Join us for an informative evening focused on Narrogin’s renewable energy journey and what lies ahead. This community information session—facilitated by Professor Peta Ashworth OAM, Director of the Curtin Institute for Energy Transition—will feature a panel of representatives from PoweringWA (Energy Policy WA), renewable energy companies entering the area and the Shire of Narrogin, sharing updates on current and proposed projects in the district.

About the Curtin Institute for Energy Transition
Established in 2022, the Curtin Institute for Energy Transition (CIET) provides thought leadership on climate and energy technologies as they relate to the global shift toward renewable energy. The Institute uses scientific research to inform government, industry, and the public about the trade-offs involved in achieving a just and sustainable energy transition. CIET also develops a suite of technologies and tools designed to facilitate this change and elevate the level of public understanding and debate around energy futures.

About the Facilitator
Professor Peta Ashworth OAM is the Director of Curtin University’s Institute for Energy Transition and a renowned expert in energy, communication, stakeholder engagement, and technology assessment. For nearly two decades, she has researched public attitudes toward climate and energy technologies, including wind, carbon capture and storage (CCS), solar photovoltaic, storage, geothermal and hydrogen. An accomplished speaker and educator, she actively promotes energy literacy globally and contributes to policy briefings and educational events. Peta was born and raised in Narrogin, on a farm near Yilliminning.

The evening will include short project updates, light refreshments, and an interactive Q&A session, giving residents the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the projects shaping Narrogin’s renewable energy transition.
