2026 Prairie Chicken Arts Festival Art Show & Competition
Terms and Conditions

Liability:
Although all caution will be taken, the Prairie Chicken Festival Organization assumes no responsibility for the safety of work submitted. If needed, insurance is the Exhibitor’s responsibility.  Furthermore, the exhibitor shall indemnify the organizer and hold the organizer harmless against all loss, damages, claims and cost, including reasonable attorney fees, etc. There will not be any security personnel on site during the exhibition. 					
					
Appropriate Submissions:					
While we welcome a diverse selection of submissions, we reserve the right to reject any submission we deem not suitable for general audiences. This will be determined at the time of the submission and/or during show setup.					
						
Jurors Decisions:						
The decisions of the Jurors will be final.					
Prize ribbons will remain on artwork throughout the entire exhibit.

Artist Qualifications:
 All applicants must have completed their freshman year in High School at the time of entry; and, if under the age of 18, must have a parent or legal guardian sign the entry form.

Categories Defined:
	Photography: Any still photograph taken by means of any type of camera either digital or film. Any photo within any category can be digitally or physically manipulated post capture in any manner the artist desires i.e. Photoshop.

	Painting: Acrylic, Oil, Watercolor, any other means of creating the image using applicators on a canvas or other appropriate surface. Specifically excludes items as set forth in Graphic Art below.

	3d Art: Any 3-dimensional piece including but not limited to, sculpture; pottery; jewelry.
	
	Graphic Art/Drawing: Other drawn/crafted work other than painting. Examples include Pen/ink; pastels; pencils; charcoal; multimedia; collage; digital art. (pretty much anything not brushed/ knifed in application to the surface).

Entry rules:
1.	Limit of 3 entries per artist.  
2.	Artwork must be original in design and executed by the applicant.
3.	Artwork may not have been previously won in this show.
4.	All artwork should have artist name and title of work on back or underside.  Artist name visible on front of work must be covered when submitted (masking tape often works).
5.	Artwork needs to be picked up by the artist unless a signed note is sent with an alternate person to be picked up and staff members are notified prior to pick up.
Art drop-off will be from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm on Thursday, July 16 at the Hog Days     Building, 306 No. Main St.  All art must be received by 4:30 pm on July 16 to be eligible.
6.	To avoid damage, all entries must be wired and ready for hanging; or, artists should provide free-standing or tabletop easels to display artwork.  Any work brought in deemed not ready to hang or accompanied by an easel can be returned to the artist for completion at reception’s discretion.
7.	Some easels will be available for entries, as long as supplies last.  Artists are encouraged to provide their own easels.
8.	Everyone involved with the exhibition is a volunteer. No one is a professional displayer of art or gallery organizer. Treat all volunteers with respect and they will do their best to display your work in a manner in which you desire. However, there are no guarantees as to lighting, placement or other variables regarding display. 
9.	Art pick-up is Saturday, July 18 from 3 pm to 4:30 pm at 306 No. Main St..  All entries must be picked up by 4:30 pm.  Art not picked up by 4:30 pm will be available by contacting Becky Gies for pick up at the Library.
