- **Event Description**: Lance Anderson and Mariposa Folk Festival's "An Evening of Blues & Gospel" has been a highlight of the Orillia concert season for 14 years. It will be coming to The Stephen Leacock Theatre for the FIRST time! FRIDAY Feb. 20th, 2026

Lance has yet again brought together an all-star cast of Canadian Blues All-Stars and award winners.

Lance is being joined by:

 
Garnetta Cromwell, a powerhouse vocalist (Dagroovmasters) past winner of Maple Blues Award for new Artist of the Year and a featured performer at the Women in Blues Revue at Roy Thompson Hall.
Gavin Hope, is a three-time Juno Award Nominee, both as a solo headlining vocalist and also as the longest running Baritone member of the iconic Canadian A Cappella group, The Nylons. He sings with Jeans and Classics:
Wade O. Brown is a soul vocalist/keyboardist who played Saturday Night Live (SNL) with Drake!: Brown has led the A -Team to one of Toronto's must see acts.

Mackenzie Jordan is a 25 year old slide guitar master and artist; He plays with Matchedash Parish. and was featured this summer at the Kitchener Blues Festival in Midnight Rider - The Music of the Allman Brothers Band.
PLUS, Steve Pelletier (Colin James Band, bass) and Everton White (Everyday People - drums).

What an amazing gathering of talent on one stage, produced by the incomparable Lance Anderson.

 

This show celebrates the uplifting music of the Gospel and Blues traditions. It comes at a perfect time of the year. A perfect antidote for those February Blues.

 

Lance Anderson is a Juno award winning producer and composer who has worked with Oscar Peterson, and produces the shows The LAST WALTZ - A Musical Celebration of the BAND. Mad Dogs and Englishmen - The Music of Joe Cocker and Leon Russell and Midnight Rider - The Music of the Allman Brothers Band, that was the hit of last year's Kitchener Blues Festival. He has organized the outstanding KBF Gospel Breakfast for 8 years and will be back at Mariposa in 2026 for the 2nd Gospel Tent Revival Show. Last year he played the theatre with the Block Party Band.

He has recorded and performed with the Maple Blues Band, Shakura S'Aida, Shawn Kellerman, Roly Platt, Al Lerman, Ken Whiteley and US artists like with Johnny Rawls, Lee Oskar, Deanna Bogart, Anne Harris, Tommy Castro,
