Just before the intoxicating glow of Carnival begins to fade and the quiet path of Lent opens ahead, Lambis Vassiliadis invites us on a musical passage from celebration to contemplation. From the radiant Schubertiaden of Franz Schubert to the passionate grandeur of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, the evening of 20 February becomes a journey from the mask to the true face.

At the Ionian Academy, at 7.30 pm, two landmark works of the piano repertoire will be presented:
Schubert’s Piano Sonata No. 21 in B-flat major, D.960, and Tchaikovsky’s Grande Sonate in G major, Op. 37.
