QPR "Question Persuade Refer" for First Responders

Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Van Buren County is offering a QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) Suicide Prevention training, specifically tailored for first responders. No Cost to attend; this program is sponsored by the Van Buren County Extension Council.
QPR is an evidence-based program that teaches participants how to:
Recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis
Ask the right questions
Offer hope and support
Refer someone to appropriate help
This training is designed for everyone—no prior experience or background is required. It provides practical tools to help you feel more confident supporting someone in distress. This training is for first responders, including: - Law enforcement - EMS and fire personnel - Dispatchers -
Training Details:
Date: March 4th
Time: 6:30 pm meal served begining at 6:15
Location/Platform: Van Buren County Extension Office (on the fairgrounds)
Duration: 90 minutes
