Along the way, we'll see California Poppies and Fairy Lanterns along grasslands, irises along Gray Pine, lupines along Vista, Orange Bush Monkeyflower along Bald Mountain Trail, and Blue-Eyed Grass on Lower Bald Mountain Trail, along with a multitude of other species.

Meet at the White Barn parking lot. Tickets are $10 for general admission, $5 for students, youth (12-17 year olds), Sugarloaf members, Sugarloaf or RFO volunteers, and free for children 7-11. All children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Tickets day-of on site are $15 and might not be available. This outing is not for children under 7 years old.

Wear appropriate footwear for slippery/rocky trails, bring layers, at least a quart of water, and a flashlight, in case the hike ends later than planned. Parking fees apply.

Ease of access: The White Barn parking lot has one van-accessible designated parking spot, one accessible porta-potty, and potable water access near the information kiosk. There is a flat, paved 1/4-mile road from the parking area to the observatory.
