After training as a classical violinist at London’s Royal Academy of Music he has performed worldwide, as founder member of the Bingham String Quartet and also as a soloist and orchestral leader with several leading ensembles. But he has also pursued non-classical paths, with eclectic solo recitals using electric violin and live-looping, alongside gigs with a variety of rock, pop and folk bands. This has led to a recording portfolio that spans everything from unaccompanied Bach to covers of Peter Gabriel, from Elgar orchestral works to Shostakovich string quartets, and from multi-tracked pieces by Michael Nyman to newly commissioned violin works.
