Led by Thi Thao Do from Women Wild Women, the walk will be approx 7-8km mostly flat route with some steps, gentle hills and narrow sections of path.Age: 18+Itinerary:10am: Meet at the Basecamp Activities Meeting point for hike briefing and your chance to try on a pair of Merrell test shoes.10.15am: The hike departs with a visit to Kendal’s historic Kendal Castle, followed by a stroll through Victorian woodlands, cultivated since 1790.11am: Loop back to the starting point to conclude the Merrell Hike.11.30am concludes at Basecamp.Please note that these timings are approximate and are subject to change based on conditions and the needs of the group on the day.What to bring:- Supportive walking boots/shoes (some sections can be muddy after rain)- Water & snacks and a mat or small blanket to sit on.- Extra layers, including a waterproof jacket/trousers- Rucksack- Any necessary Medic*tion (e.g, asthma pump or EpiPen):About the Communities:The partnership between Merrell Hike Club and Wonderful Wind Women inspires women to explore the outdoors with confidence. Her journey with Wonderful Wild Women has completely transformed her life, helping her find confidence, connection, and calm in nature. Inspired by the support and inclusivity of the Wonderful Wild Women community, Thao decided nearly three years ago to give something back by creating Weekday Wander, a welcoming group for women who want to get outside but don’t know where to start. Weekday Wander is all about building confidence, sharing knowledge, and encouraging women of all abilities and backgrounds to explore the outdoors together. Alongside a few other passionate volunteers, Thao gives her time to create a sense of belonging and community in the Lake District.
