Curator's Tour of Expanding Landscapes exhibition

Join us for a special tour of Expanding Landscapes: Painting After Land Art led by co-curator and Land Art expert Joy Sleeman (Slade School of Fine Art, UCL) and Tim Martin, a curator involved in the setup of Hestercombe Gallery in Somerset where this exhibition originated.

This unique tour offers insight into the making of Expanding Landscapes and the practices of the artists featured – from pioneering Land Art figures to contemporary voices redefining the genre.

The exhibition includes works by Andy Goldsworthy, Nancy Holt, Helene Appel, Hannah Brown, Sam Douglas, and Robert Smithson, among others.

At the heart of the exhibition is Goldsworthy’s Blencathra Mountain, Cumbria, 19 February 1988 – a romantic painting expressed through natural materials and photography.
