This moving and often hilarious biographical drama follows his difficult childhood in Galashiels to his tireless fight for acceptance, taking us on a journey from his younger years to the moment he is on the verge of receiving an MBE from the Queen. A powerful and inspiring story of resilience, and the importance of finding your own voice.

Empire calls it "sweet, funny, and unusually moving," highlighting Robert Aramayo's "extraordinary performance."

We're immensely pleased to be screening this film in Duns, the Borders community can, and should, take pride in his incredible journey; John's story is a testament to the character and strength found throughout our region, making this a truly special moment for our community cinema.
