Don’t miss an evening of rich, engaging music with one of Canada’s top guitarists (according to CBC Radio). Toronto-based Sean Bray brings his quartet to the stage on February 27, offering a musical experience that reflects his wide-ranging career and creative curiosity.
A native of Calgary and a graduate of the Manhattan School of Music in New York, Sean has established himself as a sought-after performer, collaborator and bandleader. His work and band leader credits move fluidly across genres — from jazz and fusion to folk, roots and beyond — and showcases both technical command and memorable musical ideas.
Sean has the ability to fit into many musical genres while still retaining an unmistakably original voice on his instrument. This quickly helped him become a sought after sideman, studio guitarist and leader of his own projects. Sean has played and/or recorded with Pat LaBarbera, Mike Murley, Kirk MacDonald, Bob Mintzer, George Garzone, Campbell Ryga, Brian Dickinson, Alex Dean, Roy Styffe, Big Miller and many more. Sean Bray is endorsed D’Addario Strings.
For this performance, Sean is joined by a stellar ensemble:
Craig Thomson — saxophone
Stefan Bienz — bass
Scott Gamble — drums
Together they bring a vibrant and varied program that highlights strong melodies, lively interplay and fresh interpretations of jazz standards (as well as several of Sean's originals).
Whether you’re already a fan of Sean’s work or discovering him for the first time, this quartet promises a memorable night of live music!
