The Boulter Method is a body of teachings passed down from Hal Boulter to Reanna Costa through years of one-on-one mentorship.
Hal, a somatic therapist, trained in several foundational modalities including Rebirthing with Leonard Orr, the Hakomi Method, and Integrative Body Psychotherapy (IBP) with Jack Rosenberg. Through his decades of work using breath as a tool for deep therapeutic transformation, he developed a unique and powerful way of being with people — a method of guiding others through breath that became his own.
This method was passed down to Reanna with both sanction and encouragement to share it with others. It is now known as The Boulter Method.
What Is The Boulter Method?
The Boulter Method is a transmission — a way of meeting yourself through the breath. It begins with doing your own work, learning to listen to the intelligence of your own body, and then gently learning how to hold space for others.
While the full method is a complete therapeutic model, this first offering focuses specifically on its breathwork applications. It is designed to be Level 1, providing a strong foundation in both personal practice and group facilitation.
For those who feel called to go deeper into one-on-one, therapeutic work, a Level 2 offering will follow, with further mentorship and refinement.
Over the course of 4 weekends (100 hours total), you will receive, experience, and learn:
Anatomy – Deepen your understanding of the breath and nervous system.
History – Explore the roots and modern therapeutic uses of breathwork.
Containment – Learn how to build, hold, and discharge charge through the breath.
Altered States – Understand how breath alters consciousness and supports healing.
Somatics – Study holding patterns and how to support release through presence and touch.
Integration – Learn how to help others process and integrate their experiences.
Facilitation – Gain tools to teach, support, and guide groups in breathwork.
Personal Practice – Use breathwork as an ongoing tool for transformation.
