Our ensemble, Ad Lucem (Latin meaning "toward the light"), began the tradition of presenting this concert and carol sing at Saint Paul's for Christmas of 2012.
Some of our original veteran musicians continue to join forces with our newer musicians, giving an exquisite spectrum of sound, which promises to be a beautiful and moving experience of the season.
This year's event will feature...
Karen Martin (piano), Julie Tourtellotte (soprano/alto), Laura Yeates (alto/tenor) Alison Seeber (soprano/alto), Michelle Golan (soprano), Andrew Seeber (vocal bass, guitar), Jeremy Arrant (guitar), Amy Wiggins (harp) & Shirlene Gonzalez (organ).
+Additional guest musicians & carol singers may include: John Seeber (tenor/baritone), Benjamin Seeber (baritone), Kelly Tourtellotte (soprano/alto), Annie Mayhugh (alto), Stephanie Russel (flute), a small children's ensemble, directed by Julie Tourtellotte & more!
... and YOU, our wonderful audience, will be invited to sing favorite traditional carols with us, interspersed between both familiar and unfamiliar Christmas songs of varied origins and languages, featuring a mix of individual soloists, duets or the entire ensemble, in addition to related scripture readings.
We are delighted to include a song by our local composer friend, Elizabeth Goman, as well as music by Michael Joncas, J.S. Bach, Ruth Elaine Schram, Natalie Sleeth, Michael Card, John Rutter and more.
May our music help to prepare your hearts for Christmas as we journey from days of Advent, of waiting and longing for Christ's coming, through His beautiful, quiet and humble nativity and then into the bright joy of Epiphany! Please come and allow this music to inspire you and enhance your experience of Christmas!
