Cob Oven Workshop

Learn to build an outdoor pizza oven using the soil under your feet! This hands-on class is a great introduction to mixing and sculpting with cob: one the most ancient, versatile, sustainable, and fun building materials. We will cover how to select suitable subsoils and plant fiber, mixing ratios and techniques, and how to build a strong cob dome. This essential cob knowledge will serve you for any future cob projects. Come ready to get muddy.

This class does not cover plastering – we recommend the 9/19-20 Plaster Fundamentals and 9/26-27 Natural Paints workshop for those who want hands-on time with sealing and finishes for earthen wall systems.

The 2-day workshop runs from 10 am to 4 pm on both days.
