- **Event Start and End Date**: Fri, 16 Oct, 2026 at 05:30 pm – Fri, 16 Oct, 2026 at 07:00 pm (-05:00)
- **Event Description**: The Buffalo County Historical Society and Trails & Rails Museum invite the public to step into the past during From Beyond the Grave, a moving outdoor living history event taking place October 16–18, 2026, at Kearney Cemetery, 4400 I Avenue, Kearney, Nebraska.
Beginning each evening at 5:30 PM, this unique program brings local history to life as community volunteers portray notable Civil War-era Kearneyites. Through first-person narratives, attendees will hear the stories of individuals whose lives and experiences helped shape the history of the City of Kearney and Buffalo County.
This year, all reenactors will present from the same location, allowing guests to remain comfortably seated throughout the program without moving from grave to grave.
Visitors are encouraged to bring a lawn chair and enjoy this meaningful opportunity to connect with the people and stories that shaped our local history.
Admission is by free will donation, with proceeds supporting the Buffalo County Historical Society and the Trails & Rails Museum.
