The Hydroponic Hut Kratky Workshop is Back! Same Great Food Producing Instruction but we paired with Joe Potter at Treehouse Farm and we added a Homesteading Teaser and Farm Tour!! Everyone who attended the last class loved the new homesteading addition. This Hands-On Beginner Hydroponic Workshop is – Saturday, March 21, 2026 2:00–5:00 PM

Class Cost: $100 per participant
Optional Hydroponic Hut Growing Kit additional: $50
(Includes bin system, net pots, seedlings, nutrients, oasis cubes, and pelleted lettuce seeds for future germination.)

Workshop Overview:
The Hydroponic Hut Hydro class is BACK! Join us for an immersive, hands-on experience in Kratky hydroponics at a NEW location and we added a NEW instructor to bring you more food sustainability solutions. In this class you will learn basic hydroponics to grow amazing food but as a bonus you will get a Homesteading teaser and a farm tour!
This workshop is designed to teach you how to grow your own food efficiently and sustainably, all while connecting with a community dedicated to combating food insecurity in Hawai‘i.
What You’ll Learn:
Seed to Harvest:
Understand the essentials of germination, seedling development, and integrating plants into hydroponic systems.
DIY System Building:
Gain hands-on experience with power tools to create custom hydroponic setups and learn about the importance of reservoirs.
Pest & Safety Management:
Identify common pests like slugs and insects that can harm your plants. Learn about rat lungworm disease, its risks, and how to create safety barriers to protect your produce and yourself.
Sustainable Growing:
Discover how to recycle growing media and cultivate perennials and a variety of other vegetables without the need for greenhouses.
**NEW—Homesteading Teaser and Farm Tour: You will get an introduction and insight into homesteading on a real working farm. There will be a farm tour at the end of class and you can see first hand what is possible when expanding your knowledge of growing, raising or making your own food. We are super excited about this new addition to our educational program.

This workshop is more than just a class; it's an opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals passionate about sustainable living. Engage in meaningful discussions, share experiences, and build lasting relationships that extend beyond the workshop.
