All participants will learn several introductory ukulele chords. Younger keiki will be encouraged to participate in movement activities that show chord changes as older keiki and adults progress to more challenging ukulele chords. Small, colorful dots will be placed under the ukulele strings for students to “play by color”, which will support mixed-ability instruction and differentiation.

Younger students are welcome if they show readiness for formal instruction, can play independently and (relatively) quietly, or if a second parent or guardian is in attendance. 

Project supported by the Hawai‘i State Foundation on Culture and the Arts (SFCA), through grants from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), and the Hawaii Community Foundation (HCF).
