A Field training exercise with fieldcraft, sport, and more!
We will be travelling by bus from the Pefferlaw Lions Hall to the Ken Reid Conservation Center.
Friday: Arrive at the Hall no later than 17:30hrs. Bus departure is 18:00h sharp.
Sunday: Bus leaves Ken Reid CC at 14:00hrs and arrives at the Hall at approximately 14:45. Parents, please watch our Facebook page for updates on travel time, for pickup of your Cadet.
Health card and signed permission forms are *mandatory* to participate. This event is open to Cadets that have pre-registered.
Pack/bring all items on the kit list:
Since the exercise will be conducted in early fall, weather can be unpredictable. Therefore, specialized equipment required. The following lists will detail the equipment you are required to bring:
• Tent
• Sleeping Bag
• Pillow or pillowcase (if needed)
• FTU Clothing if available/appropriate civilian wear otherwise
• Rain Gear
• Underwear (2 pair)
• Wool Socks (2 pair)
• Athletic socks (1 pair)
• Personal cleaning kit (soap, toothbrush, tooth paste, deodorant, towel, feminine hygiene, razor, mirror, towel, etc.)
• Cool weather sweater/ Polar fleece top (1)
• Lip Balm (Chap stick, Blistex) and sunscreen
• Warm Pants (ie: track pants)
• Warm Hat or Toque for evenings
• Long Sleeve shirts
• Proper footwear –comfortable for pt, hiking, etc
• Backpack, or Rucksack/Duffle Bag (To carry personal equipment)
• bottle for water (water available on site)
• Flashlight / extra batteries
• Extra Dry Clothes to change into, if wet weather occurs all weekend
• Any other reasonable camping needs (CO’s discretion)
Pro Tip: Pack all of your gear in plastic garbage bags to keep it waterproof
You will not bring or have in your possession:
• Knives of any kind (Officers will have all you will need)
• Alcohol
• Cigarettes of any kind
• Vapes or e-cigarettes
Prescription medication will be reported to the exercise Admin/Med O upon arrival to site on Friday.
THE CANADIAN FORCES DRUG AND ALCOHOL POLICY WILL BE STRICTLY ADHERED TO AT ALL TIMES DURING THE WEEKEND AND IS APPLICABLE TO ALL CADETS, CIC OFFICERS, AND CIVILIANS.
