Bring your kids to our Earth Science ? class Fossils and Lithification on August 28th which is a Thursday! We will have 4 classes with 25 seats in each class. This class is great for those that already participated in our Rock Cycle Class or the Moh’s Hardness and Testing class. It is ideal for kiddos ages 9 and older.

If this is your first class with us, that’s okay too! This will be a lesson completely unique and stand alone from the others. During the class, the kiddos will learn about the 2 forces controlling the rock cycle, the 3 rock groups, how fossils get preserved through the process of lithification and learn the principle of super position! 

The class will involve running 3 experiments and of course each person gets to mine for fossils with the Sluice! 

The first experiment will be creating fossil molds, the second will be how sedimentary layers become stratified from particle settling velocity, and the third will be mineral crystallization, sped up for kids to observe the process!
