MARSHALLING AND PARADE OVERVIEW
Thank you all for your patience as we have been finalising marshalling details. Please find
below an overview of festival day, 20th June:
8:45am Volunteer parade marshal arrival (details through volunteer team)
9.00am Volunteer parade marshal final briefing at Katoomba Public School oval,

Waratah St entrance

9.30am Parade participants to check in for marshalling at Katoomba Public School oval,

Waratah St entrance - larger groups/larger props

9.45am Parade participants to check in for marshalling at Katoomba Public School oval,

Waratah St entrance - smaller groups/smaller props

10.00am Parade participant check in concludes

10.10am Parade order established
10.40am Parade commences stack on Waratah St (Road closure in place,

controlled by traffic management and police)

10.55am Parade standing by
11.00am Parade commences and turns onto Katoomba St
11.30am Parade ends and disperses on Bathurst Road
12noon Katoomba Public School oval site clean up and close
PARADE FORMATION
In this parade, we are opting for a FOUR ACROSS marching formation. This means that you will
march in rows that are four people wide. 

Please note that NO MOTORISED VEHICLES ARE ALLOWED in this parade. We encourage
the use of small wheeled structures such as shopping trolley based props, but no floats or
vehicles will be permitted at the march for the safety of everyone.
As for your sound presentation, we will be dispersing groups with sound throughout the parade
to avoid noise pollution. We encourage the groups that have indicated music to bring a portable
speaker, and for those who do not have music to dance along to the marching bands and music
acts that will proceed or follow you. Handheld noisemakers encouraged too!

TRANSPORT/PARKING
Travel via public transport is encouraged, please travel early! There is no parking available at
Katoomba Public School, the school carpark on Merriwa St is off limits. Street parking will be
very limited and highly sought after, and may streets now have parking limitations. Please check
travel details and plan ahead.
