The Lyrebird Festival returns in 2025, from Thursday the 13th to Sunday the 16th of November, celebrating the spectacular Megalong Valley with music, art, food & wine, talks & nature walks. Founded and directed by the Bowerbird Collective, and supported by Lot 101, this event brings together art, science and conservation, and includes local culinary delights, and intimate, world-class performances.
2025 features an all-star line-up including:
Seckou Keita - kora
James Crabb - classical accordion
Emily Granger - harp
Claire Edwardes - marimba
Andrew Blanch - guitar
The Bowerbird Collective - strings
Jane Sheldon - art installation, 'Sonic Blossom'
We are also thrilled to host a series of compelling talks and nature experiences. Gregg Borschmann (Radio National) will interview Diego Bonetto (foraging) and Professor Rachael Gallagher (plant ecology), and Dmitri Douchin and Selena Griffith will discuss the Dark Sky initiative and the importance of conserving the dark night. Join Diego Bonetto for foraging workshops and see the stars anew with Blue Mountains Stargazing. Author Jodie McLeod will present a kids session with her new book 'The 12 Birds of Christmas', and kids can join nature play workshops. We also feature the outstanding film 'The Giants', a portrait of trees and nature advocacy.
All events have been scheduled to allow for plenty of time moving between each location. All concerts and other events can be booked separately, or together with a festival pass at a discount. Pricing includes a 'Pay what you can' option. Don't miss the 2025 Lyrebird Festival!

All events are in the Megalong Valley, 2 hours drive from Sydney and 15 minutes from Blackheath.
