About the Film
The New Peasants offers an intimate look at a family who, over 20 years, chose to turn away from modern industrial culture and embrace a radically simple, sustainable way of living. This family now meets around 80 percent of their needs without money — no supermarket food, no car — yet they find richness in preserved foods, saved seeds, homesteading skills, community connections and time for what truly matters. The film speaks deeply to questions of sustainability, community, simplicity, and reconnecting with land and people. View trailer.
