Developing Collections for Pret (A Course in Fashion Design)
A program for advanced level fashion design to develop a 5 piece pret collection under the guidance of Yousuf Bashir Qureshi.
The course will run in two segments, Block A on Tuesdays and Block B on Thursdays. A total of 5 sessions including a photo shoot/cataloging opportunity for both blocks.
Participants are required to have prior knowledge and understanding of fashion and apparel design.

Attendance in all 5 sessions is mandatory for certificate.
The best of collections will receive a launch showcase at Commune Artist Colony along with rack space at the YBQ Concept Studio.
About the Instructor:
Yousuf Bashir Qureshi, known to the world as YBQ, was born on the 2nd of March 1971 in the city of Karachi. His High Schooling was from Pakistan Steel Cadet College, he went to the US to study Food Sciences. However, his passion for arts eventually took over and led him to switch to fashion design, photography and art in general.
Yousuf moved from Lincoln, Nebraska to Los Angeles in 1997, where he was soon noticed by Hollywood for his unique skill of combining his heritage with a very contemporary gesture. This led him to work and learn from the industry giving him great insights on the business of fashion.
During his time abroad has worked with renowned fashion houses and names. His clients have included stars like Sheryl Crow, Gwen Stefani, Tupac, as well as Denzel Washington to name a few. Design houses he has worked for in the past include Givenchy, The House of Christian Lacroix, Bebe, BCBG, Arden B. and Lapis.
In 2004 Yousuf moved back to Pakistan on the wish of his best friend, his late grandfather, Zahir-ud-din Qureshi. His family warehouses became his nest to start his career as an artist, teacher and a student.
Yousuf Bashir Qureshi's concept driven work is esteemed in high regard for its immense attention to detail. His work is known to stir emotions and bring a flair of theatrics through fashion as an art form.
