Maa Dharti Project: Chapter 3
Maa Dharti Project
Chapter 3: Samundar ke Andar
Over 70 percent of the Earth’s surface is covered by seas and oceans, much of it still unexplored. The depth of the deepest point in the ocean is more than the height of Mt. Everest, and the majority of species of marine life have not even been discovered. Yet this vast ecosystem is already under threat from human waste and consumption. Join us for the Third Session of our Maa Dharti Project to find out how the seas are connected to the eco-cycle and the well-being of humanity with expert environmentalist Tofiq Pasha Mooraj.
Guest Speaker: Saquib Mehmood - Aerospace Engineer; Master of Science in Strategic Studies and Master of Philosophy Social Sciences; SCUBA Diving Instructor; worked with Govt. of Pakistan, United Nations, World Conservation Society; rendered advice to Govt.of Zanzibar on ecologicalissues and management of MenaiBay Marine Protected Area; mentored local NGOs and CBOs in East Africa; lectured at National DefenceUniversity and Pakistan Forest Institute on international issues, climate change and marine conservation.
The purpose of the Maa Dharti Project is to raise awareness about the most pressing challenges faced by humanity today - healing the ecosystem; and to then follow up with concrete collective action!
