Saturday, July 25th

Time: 8:45 – 9:30 PM

Location: Happ Playground in the Sunrise Campground

Join our BNA Volunteer and Wisconsin DNR Bat Ambassador, John, as we discover that there are, indeed, bats at Bong!

Shortly after sundown meet at the Happ Playground = at the Sunrise Campground – for a short introduction to bats (the mammal) in Wisconsin.

Then we will walk up to a bat house and listen for bats flying by, using special ultrasonic microphones.

We will compare the type and frequency of bats that we “hear” tonight with those from the May and June hikes. Will there be more species of bats and a higher number heard??
?

Please note that we will be walking on the park camp ground roads after sundown. Children are welcome but must be accompanied by adults and everyone should wear bright clothing.

Note: This event is weather dependent: rain=no presentation.

The event is open to the general public but to enter the park you must purchase a state park entrance pass/sticker.
