About the event

Wiki Edit-a-Thon
In support of Women’s History Month, the Spencer Art Reference Library, will host a Wiki edit-a-thon to share the stories of women-identifying artists featured in the Missouri Remembers portal. Missouri Remembers is a Spencer Art Reference Library research project created in collaboration with the Kansas City Art Institute and the St. Louis Public Library. The portal documents artists practicing before 1951 from across the state. Artist entries in Missouri Remembers, among other authoritative sources, can be used to enhance Wikipedia by adding information, correcting submissions, and adding citations to artists’ Wiki pages..

No Wikipedia or art history experience is necessary to participate in this edit-a-thon. However, please create a free user account on wikipedia.org before the event. This Wikipedia:GLAM/Beginner's_guide_to_Wikipedia includes instructions on how to create your account.
