Celebrate Women’s History Month with an intimate evening of bold, beautifully reimagined pop music. Pop Queens on Strings features striking string trio arrangements of songs by Janelle Monáe, Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, and other influential women shaping pop music today—curated and performed live by Kansas City’s own Monarch String Trio.
Monarch String Trio is made up of violinists Matthew Bennett and Joanna Metsker, and cellist Adee Dancy. Rooted in classical training and fueled by a love of contemporary music, the trio creates original arrangements that transform familiar songs through texture, rhythm, and close ensemble playing. Each performance offers a fresh, collaborative take—inviting listeners to hear pop music in a whole new way.
Join us for an evening that’s intimate, inventive, and unapologetically powerful.
